And what every beautiful crib needs is a beautiful little mobile to keep your baby entertained. So we found some nice, easy, and simple Do-It-Yourself crib mobiles that you can work on as a way to relax and de-stress during your pre-baby days. We’ve even broken them down into a few categories, so you can choose the type that works best for you and the nursery!

First, let’s start off with some light ideas;

Simple Mobiles
For the parents who have a little too much on their plate already, or aren’t the biggest fans of crafting.
Colorful, simple, and cute, a DIY ribbon mobile is probably the easiest mobile to make without needing too many supplies.

Made by the mommy blog at bebehblog.com.

Here’s one of our favorite ideas; save those paint cards you were using to choose your nursery’s color scheme, and use them to make a mobile. There’s a lot of examples out there, though most use cardstock in place or actual paint chips, but the idea is cool all the same!

Next, we’ll move onto some mobiles that are a bit more challenging and craft-worthy;

Paper Made Mobiles

Origami Boxes
All you need is something round, some string, a few beads, and some colorful paper; we suggest matching colors with your nursery’s color scheme for a little added touch.

Origami Diamonds
An easy to read and fun craft by Lilly from her blog Lovely Happy Life, this cheaper baby mobile is a great choice for those who can’t quite find the right colors in store bought mobiles.

Simply Paper
Easy for those who aren’t fans of origami, Erica from Dwell Beautiful made a guest blog on Blesser House with instructions for an even easier DIY mobile. No paper folding required, all you’ll need is some paper, glue, and scissors for this mobile’s main attraction. http://www.blesserhouse.com/2015/02/diy-bohemian-chic-triangle-mobile.html

And last in our paper category, for those who want a little more of a challenge and a little bit more intricacy, we’ve found a beautiful bird mobile made by the ever-talented craft specialist Martha Stewart. http://www.marthastewart.com/269785/bird-mobile?czone=entertaining/baby-showers-cnt/party-and-gift-ideas&center=276963&gallery=275727&slide=269785

Felt and Fabric Mobiles

Felt
First up is this adorable little felt fruit mobile fits in nicely and has a lot of bright colors to stimulate your baby, and the best part is that it’s easy! Steph from the blog ‘Make and Tell’ shared her process over on Simply Peachy Baby, go check it out! http://simplypeachybaby.com/diy-fruit-baby-mobile-from-make-and-tell/

For a bit more of a challenge there are felt mobiles that need to be sewn, like this cute rain cloud-inspired mobile by Katerina on apartmenttherapy.com.

Fabric

Next up are these super cute hand-sewn rainclouds with some pretty patterns on them, made by the French bloggers at petitpoulou.com. Different from the felt clouds, these can be made with a little extra, like exchanging the raindrops for birds, as seen below.

Bright and Cheerful
For those with a more whimsical nursery in mind there are also many different ways to make hot air balloon mobiles, such as the one from How Joyful Blog. Great for being a bit different, and having a good use of strong colors, and multiple ones!
